
Elisabeth Husebye
Elisabeth Ellingsen Husebye, MD, PhD, is a specialist in orthopaedic surgery. She earned her PhD in 2012 in orthopaedic traumatology with the dissertation: “Intramedullary reaming and nailing of femoral shaft fractures. A study on the procedure-related inflammatory and cardiopulmonary responses.” Her main area of work is foot and ankle surgery, including both elective procedures and treatment of foot and ankle injuries. She works at Oslo University Hospital, Norway.
She is the chair of the Norwegian Foot and Ankle Surgery Association (NOFAF) and the head of the Norwegian National Advisory Unit on Foot and Ankle Deformities. She is also the course leader for the national course in foot and ankle surgery for medical doctors in specialist training, a course that includes cadaver-based instruction. She is involved in several research and PhD projects and has supervised PhD candidates to completion.
