Elmar Herbst works at the Department of Trauma, Hand, and Reconstructive Surgery at the University Hospital of Muenster, Germany. He trained in sports medicine at the Technical University of Munich and completed his PhD in musculoskeletal sciences at the Medical University of Innsbruck.

He also did a research fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh. His research focuses on rotatory knee instability, knee anatomy, biomechanics, and lower limb alignment, earning awards at national and international conferences.

Mr. Herbst is involved in multiple committees, including AGA, ESSKA, DKG, ISAKOS, and the ACL study group. He is also the Deputy Editor-in-Chief for KSSTA.
