Prof Elvire Servien, MD, PhD, is full Professor in orthopaedic surgery, Chief of the surgical departments, and Head of the orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine department in Hôpital de la Croix-Rousse (France). She is also full Professor (exceptional class) the University of Lyon and Director of the FIFA Medical Centre of Excellence.

Prof Servien completed medical school in Paris and her orthopaedic training in Lyon University Hospital, then in Australia and New Zealand during one year. She was selected for the AOSSM-ESSKA traveling fellowship in 2009. She is Past President of the Lyon School of Knee Surgery (LYKS), Past Chair of the ESSKA sports committee, and currently Chair of the ISAKOS sports committee. She is also on the board of the EKA, is an elected member of the National Council of Universities and is Vice Chair of the Program Committee of ACLstudy group.

Prof Servien’s main interests are sports surgery including ACL surgery, patellofemoral surgeries, meniscal repair, and robotic surgery (knee arthroplasty). She has published more than 300 papers, which are indexed on Medline.
