
Joaquin Sanchez-Sotelo
Dr. Joaquin Sanchez-Sotelo is Consultant, Professor, and Chair of the Division of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery at the Mayo Clinic, and current President of the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons.
He has published over 400 peer-reviewed manuscripts and played a key role in the design of modern shoulder arthroplasty implants. His research focuses on surgical conditions of the shoulder and elbow, personalised medicine strategies, joint fibrosis, and applications of artificial intelligence in orthopaedics.
Dr. Sanchez-Sotelo has received numerous national and international awards recognising his contributions to clinical research and innovation. He is also editor of leading reference works, including Morrey’s The Elbow and Its Disorders and Mayo Clinic Principles of Shoulder Surgery.
