Domenico Laurenza
Domenico Laurenza is an art historian.
He is an expert on the relationship between art and science, the history of scientific illustration and of Leonardo da Vinci’s work.
Among his publications are:
Leonardo da Vinci’s Codex Leicester. A New Edition, Oxford University Press, 4 volumes, 2019-2020 (co-authored with Martin Kemp);
Art and Anatomy in Renaissance Italy, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, 2012;
Léonard de Vinci. Anatomies, Gründ, Paris 2010.
He is professor of Art History at the University of Cagliari, scientific consultant of Schroeder Arts (New York) and Museo Galileo (Florence) and member of the Commissione Nazionale per l’Edizione dei Manoscritti e dei Disegni di Leonardo da Vinci.
He is general editor, with Martin Kemp, of the new edition of Leonardo’s codices kept today in the Institut de France, Paris (Faksimile Verlag, in progress).
