Returning to sport  after shoulder arthroplasty – what is possible?

Dr. Joaquin Sanchez-Sotelo MD PhD currently serves as Consultant, Professor and Chair of the Division of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery at Mayo Clinic.

He also serves as President of American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons.

Dr. Sanchez-Sotelo has published over 400 manuscripts in the peer-reviewed literature, and he has been intimately involved in the design of contemporary shoulder arthroplasty implants.

His areas of interest in research include surgical conditions affecting the shoulder and elbow joints, strategies in individualized medicine, joint fibrosis, and artificial intelligence-based research.

Dr. Sanchez-Sotelo has received multiple national and international research awards.

He is also editor of “Morrey’s The Elbow and Its Disorders” and “Mayo Clinic Principles of Shoulder Surgery”.
