Prof. Seil is a Luxembourg-native knee surgeon. He currently serves at the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Centre Hospitalier de Luxembourg. His primary clinical and research interests include orthopaedic sports medicine, particularly knee injuries, as well as primary and revision knee arthroplasty. He is co-director of the Luxembourg Olympic Medical Center and of the IOC-accredited French-speaking Research Centre for Prevention of Injury and Protection of Athlete Health Network ReFORM.

He has authored and co-authored over 300 publications and co-edited several books focussing on knee surgery, sports medicine, and advanced techniques in orthopaedics He has contributed to establishing best practices in ACL reconstruction and meniscal surgery and is co-founder of ESSKA’s Pediatric ACL registry, a founding member of ESSKA’s Journal of Experimental Orthopaedics, co-editor, editorial board member and reviewer of several scientific journals in orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine.

Prof. Seil is a member of the Health, Medicine and Science commission of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and of many national and international societies, among which ISAKOS and the ACL study group. He is past president of ESSKA (www.esska.org) and GOTS (www.gots.org) and president of LIROMS (www.liroms.lu).

A recipient of numerous awards for his contributions to sports medicine, his academic contributions and clinical expertise have established him as a leader in the field and a frequent speaker at international orthopaedic and sports medicine congresses.
