Guri Ekas
Guri Ekas is a specialist in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine, with a special interest in knee injuries.
She works as a consultant at the Knee Section of Akershus University Hospital in Norway, where she performs arthroscopic surgery and treats ACL injuries in children and adults.
She is also a lecturer at the Institute of Clinical Medicine at the University of Oslo, where she teaches medical students.
She has a PhD in sports injury research from the Oslo Sports Trauma Research Center, where she studied the management, treatment rationale and long-term outcomes of pediatric ACL injuries. She was involved in the IOC consensus report on ACL injuries in children and adolescents, and she is currently participating in several research projects on ACL injuries, such as the Improve ACL, PAMI and PAKT studies.
She is also a certified sports physician by the Norwegian Sports Medicine Federation, and she has been the team doctor for the Norwegian national ski jumping team since 2015.
