Thomas W. Patt is a specialist in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine, with a special interest in knee injuries.
He works as a consultant at the Knee Section of Akershus University Hospital in Norway, where he performs arthroscopic surgery and treats ACL injuries in children and adults.
He is also a lecturer at the Institute of Clinical Medicine at the University of Oslo, where he teaches medical students.
He has a PhD in sports injury research from the Oslo Sports Trauma Research Center, where he studied the management, treatment rationale and long-term outcomes of pediatric ACL injuries.
He was involved in the IOC consensus report on ACL injuries in children and adolescents, and he is currently participating in several research projects on ACL injuries, such as the Improve ACL, PAMI and PAKT studies.
He is also a certified sports physician by the Norwegian Sports Medicine Federation, and he has been the team doctor for the Norwegian national ski jumping team since 2015.
