WHO IS THE COURSE FOR?

The course is designed for :

• Volunteers for Winter Olympic Games 2026 (Milano and Cortina d’Ampezzo, 6-22 February 2026) and Winter Universiade (Torino, 15-26 January 2025)
• Orthopaedic surgeons and Physiotherapists participating to the ESSKA Congress and interested in medical fields problems. 

WHAT IS THE AIM OF THE COURSE?

The principle aim of the course is to provide cutting-edge information on injury epidemiology in Olympic athletes, prevention, evaluation and management of injuries in athletes.

WHAT DOES THE COURSE COVER?

1. Current issues in sports medicine through real-life cases
2. Discussions and interaction around clinical conundrums faced by team physicians.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

After completion of the course, attendees should be able to:

• Manage field emergencies (concussion, cardiology and climate)
• Manage acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries (lower extremities)
• Manage mental health issues in athletes.

WHEN:

Day 1: Thursday 9 May, afternoon

Day 2: Friday 10 May, entire day

Rooms Amber 5+6 / Amber 7 (Level 2)

COURSE FEES:

• € 170 for registered ESSKA Congress delegates
• € 345 for all other participants

• Lunch on Friday 10 May
• Access to the ESSKA Congress Industry Exhibition (Thursday and Friday). NB: Congress registered delegates have full access within their Congress pass.
